Walking Football

A slower, more accessible variant of the classic game, with no running or physical contact allowed

What is Walking Football?

The fastest-growing activity for over 50’s in the UK, walking football is a slower, more accessible variant of the classic game. Walking football rules are designed to make the game more manageable for older adults, with no running or physical contact allowed.

Who is it For?

Aimed at allowing people aged over 50 the chance to play football even if they lack mobility or other conditions that prevent them from playing the traditional game, walking football schemes have been a phenomenal success across the UK.

Our classes are an excellent way for older individuals to stay active, socialise, and have fun while improving their health and fitness. Walking football is also a great way to improve balance, coordination, and cardiovascular fitness while having a good time with like-minded individuals.

So, if you’re over 50 and looking for a new way to stay active and healthy, join our walking football classes on Birchwood Leisure Centre’s 3G pitch today!

Walking Football is a drop-in class and does not require pre-booking.
